An HR assistant role is a great way to start your HR career. As an administrative professional, you will be a support to senior staff, helping with tasks such as welcoming new starters, contracts and employee lifecycle. An HR assistant job provides a great opportunity to develop strong HR and office skills. If involved in recruitment, you may be responsible for writing and posting job openings, gathering information on new applicants, contacting references and keeping candidates informed through the process.
In many medium to large companies, the HR department will employ dedicated internal recruiters to source professionals to fill job openings within their own company.
