Lime Wood, Hampshire

Lime Wood is a masterclass in laidback luxury, offering out-of-towners a stately way to relax and recharge. Once the lodgings of the Duke of Clarence, the New Forest manor has had a multi-million-dollar renovation and now offers the perfect Hampshire escape, complete with gorgeous grounds, bespoke interiors, a sumptuous spa and remarkable restaurant.

The Forest Lodges are the most indulgent of all the accommodation options, each featuring a lounge, fireplace, dining area and alfresco forest terrace, as well as a bathroom with expansive views of the surrounding environment. However, Lime Wood’s real attraction is in its gastronomic offering – esteemed chefs Angela Harnett and Luke Holder take an Italian approach to eating at Lime Wood’s restaurant, where provenance and sharing is king. Budding chefs can also opt for a private cooking class, held in the on-site cookery school.
