Whilst there are plenty of PA jobs in the UAE, the competition is also fierce so, the more skills or experience you have under your belt, the more chance you have of landing your perfect personal assistant job.
The role of a PA in Dubai has changed dramatically in the past few years. There is less call for those with traditional PA skills and more of a demand for candidates to have all-round capabilities, including excellent organisational and project management skills and a strong knowledge of MS Office systems. In particular, all candidates should be confident in pulling together mail merges in Word; collating expenses and generating charts and tables in Excel and creating presentations or slideshows with custom animation in PowerPoint.
One of the most important skills for those looking to fill a PA vacancy in the UAE is MS Outlook. Successful PA candidates need to be confident in arranging diaries and travel using the diary functions, especially across multiple time zones.

A PA’s salary depends completely on the role and industry they are based in. In professional and financial services, a Dubai PA can expect to earn anywhere between 15,000-25,000 AED/month, while an EA in banking can earn 18,000-40,000 AED/month. In other areas of the region, this will change. For example, in Saudi Arabia, an EA can earn anything between 25,000-40,000 AED/month.
In a family office, a PA’s salary can range from 25,000- 30,000 AED/month, while a private PA can expect between 30,000-40,000 AED/month.
