Private Tutor

Our client, a welcoming private family based in Miami, FL are looking for an experienced top-notch fulltime Tutor for their elementary aged child. In this role you would be assisting the child with staying organized and on top of their schooling as they do have a robust extracurricular schedule along with learning. Fluency in Spanish and / or Italian is a plus. 

As the private Tutor you would be working with 1 elementary aged child. The family are looking for someone who can keep things organized while also setting benchmarks and goals. You would also be reporting to the parents on the child’s progress. This role is fulltime at 40hrs per week, and you must be available on weekends and afterschool hours. Comfortability also working over school holidays, travel with the family from time to time is also needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the welfare and safety of the child
• Assessing on the child’s existing ability on certain subject matter
• Creating a lesson plan for further education and developments
• Reviewing child’s homework assignments, comfortability with admission exams
• Communication with the parents on progress and areas to work on
• Keeping up to date on current curriculum and latest teaching trends
• Excellent knowledge of subjects being taught
• If fluent in Spanish and/or Italian - being able to teach the child
• Provide companionship during athletic and extracurricular activities – a plus if interested in participating with the child
• Keeping the child’s attention on the learning at hand
• Pick up and drop off from extra-curricular activities, afterschool pick up – placing in learning during travel times

The Candidate
Their ideal candidate will be trained in elementary school classroom teachings and homeschool teachings. You must also be comfortable working in the principal’s home and be able to conduct attention as such. A degree in child education is required. Comfortability with flexibility along with confidentiality and being organized. Valid driver’s license. Fluency in Spanish and/ or Italian is a plus, along with being interested in athletics as the child is big into extracurricular activities. Familiarity with the Orton Gillingham method.
