Management Accountant – Perm- Marlborough

UK (regional) SALARY: £30,000 - £45,000 PER: Annum TERM: Permanent

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join a small family office based on a beautiful estate. This may appeal to someone who is a partially or newly qualified accountant.  The successful candidate will possess exceptional organisational, time management and team player skills.  They are a small office with a team of 8. The candidate will also provide general administrative support to the management team as well as the accounting department. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong attention to detail are also vital. Any candidates with experience and familiarity in a similar role are strongly encouraged to apply.


The Role:

  1. Preparation of monthly Management accounts, including analysis of variances to budget, profit and loss and balance sheet with supporting notes and commentary.
  2. Monthly balance sheet control account reconciliations.
  3. Maintain Stock listings for both Bloodstock and Livestock.
  4. Maintenance of the Fixed assets registers.
  5. Review of the month end Bank reconciliations in GBP, Euro and USD.
  6. Quarterly VAT Returns - Including Agricultural and property VAT rules.
  7. Work closely with the Purchase Ledger accounts assistant: Ensuring all queries are resolved in a timely manner, reviewing month end report of accounts payables ready for payment approval and payment once authorised.
  8. Control of the Sales ledger.
  9. Posting of the monthly payroll journals.
  10. Managing petty cash and credit card expenses.
  11. Being first point of contact for all relevant enquiries
  12. Perform administrative tasks as needed e.g. Maintaining vehicle and insurance databases.
  13. Assist with the yearly audits
  14. Support the Financial Director with any ad-hoc tasks required

The candidate:

  • Minimum of AAT Qualification (company will support you with your further qualifications)
  • Working as part of a team, good communication, proactive & solutions orientated
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Knowledge of Sage & Agricultural and Bloodstock / Racing rules would be helpful



£30k - £45k salary plus holidays, bonus etc

Must be available to work full time on site in Marlborough Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm
