Insurance Manager

Our client is looking for an experienced Insurance Manager to identify, plan, direct and manage company’s various insurable and non-insurable risks.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Identify, assess and evaluate all the company’s risks
• Visit risk sites to discuss all risks with the various stakeholders
• Continuously review all the insurance policies from adequacy of cover to indemnity limits
• Arrange engineering risk surveys of all operational locations
• Spearhead the entire exercise and provide necessary clarifications and responses to risk engineer/s and ensure requirements/recommendations are implemented
• Work with chosen intermediaries to develop risk transfer strategies
• Develops appropriate programmes for risk transfer systems for projects
• Regularly engage with all departments to achieve objectives
• Review all third-party contracts with regard to insurance/indemnity and ensure that proper insurance covers are procured
• Participate in project development to review all prospective investments from a risk and insurance perspective
• Develop and maintain professional relations with Insurance Companies, Brokers, Loss Adjustors, Risk Surveyors and Consultants to stay abreast of developments/best practice and ensure the smooth flow of Company business and requirements.
• Educate employees regarding their insurance benefits/eligibility and efficient utilization
• Advise and assist Group Companies in evaluating risks and develop methodologies to transfer insurable risks
• Design user-friendly employee insurance handbooks and update as and when necessary
• Delegate routine corporate claims to the Insurance Specialist and direct to conclude the claim settlement in efficient and fair manner
• Manage and negotiate all major corporate claims in consultation with the Director-Insurance and other stakeholders
• Assist employees in resolving contentious and complicated employee benefits insurance claims
• Make appropriate recommendations all Insurance & Risk Management related matters to the Director-Insurance
• Make recommendations in selecting service providers (Insurance Intermediaries, Insurance Companies etc)

 
Requirements:

• 8 years post professional qualification in the Insurance Industry
• Sound understanding of insurance risk management, strong statistical and analytical skills
• Attention to detail, strong communication skills, good knowledge of English
• Educated to university degree level
• Professional Insurance Qualification, preferably Chartered Insurance Institute diploma – ACII
• UAE Driving Licence
