Head of Engineering (tech)

An excellent opportunity for a switched-on Head of Engineering to join a busy marketing start up with a focus on providing technical leadership in all activities related to the delivery of the company’s products and solutions.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership in the delivery of the company’s products and solutions from development, engineering, release, enhancement, quality assurance, implementation and support. This is a dynamic and fast paced role, typical duties include:
• Develop reliable, robust solutions on-time, within cost targets, using agile methodologies, balancing the demands of release content, quality and desired release dates
• Contribute to ongoing “build-or-buy” decisions
• Audit existing and establish new scalable development platforms and processes that meet current requirements, anticipating future growth and complexity
• Co-develop the technical strategy and technical roadmap with the CTO
• Manage day-to-day operations of the busy team, keeping a solid handle on processes and details

WHO YOU ARE
To be successful, you will be a bright and engaging candidate with proven experience as a Head of Engineering.
• Demonstrate critical technical or professional knowledge/skills including: Python, no-SQL, JavaScript, and DevOps (K8S & CI/CD) on Google Cloud Platform
• 5+ years of progressive engineering and product development experience with at least 2 years leading a high-performing product development teams
• Experience working in a highly dynamic, entrepreneurial, fast-paced and innovative environments
• A university degree in engineering, computer science or similar
• An effective manager of people and projects, with 2+ years’ management experience
• A ‘hands-on’ leader with a proven track record of leading and scaling cloud-based product development
