Finance Manager – KSA National

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia SALARY: 35,000 AED - 42,000 AED PER: Month TERM: Permanent

Purpose of Position:

Reporting to the MEA Finance Director and supporting the local leadership and consultants with a focus predominantly on the Middle East region, you will be responsible for key areas of the unit finance function, including General ledger management (incl managing month/year end closing), cost analysis, management reporting, and ensuring integrity and compliance with internal and external rules and regulations.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities

Accounting:

• Supervises financial accounting and reporting activities including activities to promote and implement best practice, both for IFRS and local GAAP reporting. •
Supervises month end, quarter end and year end closing.
• Ensures compliance with internal controls and policies as well as regulatory and statutory requirements. Ensures correct revenue recognition for various forms of client engagements per company policy.
• Supports working capital improvement by closely following the Work in Progress and Account Receivables as well as interacting with other members of the finance team to smooth the administrative processes.
• Shares knowledge with peers and actively participates in finance projects.
• Project management Support, RFP and proposal support (providing guidance on impact of VAT and WHT) and more generally support to leadership where needed.
• Assists in the preparation and review of reports which summarize and forecast business activities and financial position of KSA.
• Executes IFRS-GAAP and local GAAP accounting policies and procedures and ensures compliance. Ensures month-end account reconciliation in agreed areas are performed (and those around Inventory and AR).
• Manages the preparation of accounts for recent new businesses that have been set-up in KSA.
• Completion and reviews of various year-end accounting packages. Interfaces with both Internal and External audit functions for both IFRS, local GAAP, or other local reporting purposes.
• Assistance with internal/external audits around all areas where necessary, and generally to support the Regional Finance Director.
• Supervises key accounting activities including but not limited to GL, WIP, AR, treasury management, Tax Reporting and related matters. Ensures timely processing and reporting.
• Monthly expense/cost variance analysis
• Manages all balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that supporting papers are available to support balances.

Management:

• Providing support, information, and solutions on financial topics relevant to the region partners
• Profitability review: using a deep understanding of the business’ accounts to maximize profitability.
• Supports financial planning and forecasting, reporting and other analysis for KSA. Manages the accuracy of the monthly management accounts, presents the accounts to the unit leader and extracts, and explains the KPI’s.
• Consults and advises management on financial issues, business development, compliance, risk management.
• Supporting Strategic Middle East Initiatives, e.g., around cost optimization/localization in KSA, new full market entries and acquisitions
• Manages, coaches, develops, and evaluates the Middle East Finance team. Skills/Abilities • Commercially minded.
• Willing to be hands on where necessary in various areas of the accounts but also able to operate effectively amongst consultants.
• Strong organization skills
• Self-driven, highly motivated team player who understands the implications of collaborating in a truly global environment.
• Ability to work independently and a willingness to look at the detail where necessary.
• Ability to maintain highest degree of precision even under significant time pressure.

Technical Skills:

• Team player but can work independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong accounting, analytical, numerical and structural skills
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Understanding of Modern Accounting software systems and workflow, ideally SAP Education
• University degree in accounting/finance.
• Chartered accountant qualification

Previous Experience:

• Minimum 7 years of Big 4 and / or management accounting management experience in a sizeable global organization in the Middle East region, including General Ledger and Subledger activities, budgeting, and financial modeling.
• Team management.
• Professional services industry experience desirable, but not essential.
• SAP R3 financial application experience preferred.
• Strong command of both oral and written Arabic
• Strong command of both oral and written English
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and accounting standards
• IFRS a must
• Local GAAP (among ME countries) an advantage
• Good knowledge of audit and tax
