Events Assistant for a tech company – Near Farringdon
27th June until end of September
£14-£22 per hour dependent on experience 
3-month assignment
Hybrid working - 3 days in the office per week with flexibility to increase near the event

An innovative technology company, with offices in Farringdon, are looking for an Events Assistant to help with the organisation and logistics for their company-wide retreat in September.

Although this role is initally until the end of September, the company are growing at an incredible rate and there may be other opportunities that arise internally for the right person!

Working alongside the Head of Events, you will be required to help with everything; from the more mundane tasks right through to attending the 3-night retreat in September to be on-site to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Events Assistant with an excellent eye for detail, who can use their own initiative and work under pressure. Someone friendly, with a positive attitude who an multi-task and be ready to get stuck in, no matter what the challenge is, will do really well in this role!


Day to day duties will included, but not be limited to:

Prior to the event:

  • First point of contact for enquiries about the retreat, from international internal attendees and stakeholders
  • Support the Head of Events and Global HR Director with logistical and administrative support including:
    • Managing and maintaining records of all bookings such as venue and catering
    • Managing and maintaining bookings with coach and taxi companies for employee travel to and from the event
    • Supporting with retreat content management such as website, signage, delegate guides etc.
    • Arranging the marketing materials and giveaways, liaising with third party contractors if required
    • Using Slack and email to respond to queries about the event and responding in a timely fashion
    • Ensure retreat information is updated regularly on the internal intranet and other platforms

During the event:

  • Attend the retreat and act as one of the main points of contact
  • Ensure all meeting rooms are set up properly
  • Set-up the registration desk and use this as a base for the event
  • Helping the senior team with any printing or presentation needs
  • Helping set up and dismantle stands, where needed
  • Collating post-event feedback and preparing post-event reports


  • Experience of arranging and supporting in-person events is a necessity
  • Super organised – great at managing your time and workload to ensure everything gets done and that handovers are seamless
  • Process-driven whilst also being confident to help out with last minute requests when necessary
  • Friendly and personable with an excellent level of English, both written and spoken
  • Experience of working with Google Suite, Zoom and Slack would be highly desirable
  • An interest in technology and / or science would be advantageous!
